Cefalù is a delightful Norman town nestled on the shores of a very blue sea and dominated by a fortress so famous that it is known simply as... the Rocca. Easily reachable by train, it is the perfect destination for a day trip from Palermo, for a few days' holiday or as a base for exploring the nearby Aeolian Islands, but in our opinion once you arrive in Cefalù you will never want to leave. The characteristic fishing village is the ideal setting for romantic walks while the interesting archaeological area will keep history and culture enthusiasts happily occupied.
